You’ve probably heard of Paloma Faith, but then again you might not have. Santy Claus brought me a copy of her album for Jesus’ birthday.
I’d heard her first single “Stone Cold Sober” and thought it was proper good. Catchy with a voice that could put Viagra out of business.
Check it.
I’ve listened to the album quite a few times and while I stand by my opinion that “Stone Cold Sober” is not only a great pop song, but a great song, I wasn’t a big fan of her follow up “New York”. Having said that, someone must like it as it’s still in regular rotation on the radio play lists.
Doesn’t stop me listening to it just to hear her weirdly sexy voice though. Makes my special alone time pass much quicker. On many levels.
If you’re not familiar, here it is to make your own mind up. If you do know it and are one of the people who love it, enjoy.
Paloma has had her mix of jobs over the past before finding success with her music. She’s been a sales assistant for Agent Provacateur, a singer in a burlesque caberet and a magician’s assistant. I wouldn’t mind splitting her in two. I mean sawing her in half.

Some people will call it just forgettable pop, and they’re probably right, but that’s what makes pop music great. Forgettable as soon as it’s stopped playing, but catchy enough to have you humming it when you least expect it.
Whatever you think of her music, you can’t deny that you wouldn’t kick out of the leaba for eating hobnobs without a care for where the crumbs are going.

Just received a mail from Will to tell us that there is a remix of Upside Down he spotted over at this site. It’s tres funky, maybe a little better than the original, but can’t decide yet. Thanks Will, here it is…
