Window Seats are a 3-piece alternative rock band comprised of Jude McCaffrey (lead vocals/guitar), Ryan ‘Didsy’ Bradley (bass/vocals) and Tony Furnell (drums/vocals). The band formed in Belfast in 2007. The band are heavily influenced by Dinosaur Jr, Foo Fighters, Frightened Rabbit, Radiohead & Smashing Pumpkins.

Taking an entirely DIY approach, they have self-produced four singles, five music videos, a series of documentary podcasts and an EP. In 2011 Window Seats released singles “Rat” and “Local Superhero” as free downloads and created highly acclaimed music videos to accompany each song.

‘Local Superhero’, the latest music video, has been selected for broadcast across Europe on MTV Rocks, as well as in cinemas in 22 major UK locations.

Directed by prolific Northern Ireland-based director Marty Stalker, (who in 2011 had work shown on US TV and at film festivals worldwide), the plot centres on a teenage character played by Denis Halligan (recent star of Game of Thrones, Hunger and Killing Bono) who is chased into a ‘comic book shop’, only to find the store filled with characters that are costumed and possessing superpowers.

It’s kind of cool, and was nominated for Best Production Effects at the Irish Music Television Awards 2011.
