A couple of weeks ago I wrote part one of this article. I wanted to add the games I’m going to talk about today but ran out of space. After all, if you’re reading this then you’re probably at work so short and sweet is the way to keep it.

I know, Modern Warfare 3 is barely out of nappies and here we are getting all broody about the new upcoming Black Ops 2 release.

In last weeks review of Prototype 2, we thought that the still-fun formula had many flaws, not least of which was the uninspired level design. However, our biggest bug bear was the game’s insistence that its character James Heller was a stone cold badass when, in fact, he was a waste of fantastic potential wrapped up in the most bone-headed, clichéd wrapping you could possibly imagine
That inspired us to provide a list of the real deal, and here it is in no particular order:

It’s ok to feel a little iffy about a game of The Walking Dead. As a fan of the comics, you might be expecting too many zombies and not enough story. If, on the other hand, you’re a fan of the TV series then you’ll be expecting something more like a soap opera with the occasional ghoul thrown in to keep the audience watching. Whatever your persuasion, you probably think the game will be a steaming heap or, at the very least, a forgettable yet unoffensive jaunt while you wait for something new. Well you’re both wrong, fictional readers. The Walking Dead is actually one of the better episodic games available out there at the moment, and well worth your time. Let’s take a look at it now.

Griff mentioned Prototype specifically earlier in his piece on improved sequels, and what we have here is a sterling example. With a new lick of paint and some TLC, Prototype 2 is vastly superior to its predecessor in nearly every conceivable way, and is an absolute blast. It’s such a pity that our new hero is a bit of a let down.

When you watch a great movie, you rarely think how awesome it would be to see another one of those. Often, when a sequel is announced you’ll find yourself a little annoyed at the fact. It can sometimes destroy the appeal a character or plot had for you in the first place. But video games are different. Read More

Who doesn’t wanna be Batman? No-one, that’s who, and anyone who disagrees deserves a punch right in the throat. We loved Batman here at Press Start, and Arkham City was one of our favourite games of 2011. We are such suckers for it that we even went and bought all the DLC so we could play as Nightwing and Robin.
