Alex Sim Wise is Front’s resident model and sexy chick.  Not only does she keep account of all her sexy goings on over the month, but she’s also their video game reviewer.

Well actually I suspect that they just put her name on the PR reviews they copy and paste from emails because she highly recommended Duke Nukem Forever calling it the awesome-est game ever, a month before it had come out and when no other magazine (including sector leading game magazines) had even gotten a preview copy of them.

Starting off with some valuable tips on how to survive the man flu, along with some boob.ie humour, we think he’ll fit right in.  And if he doesn’t, we’ll make him our bitch.  Everyone needs tea!

I am not a doctor or medical professional (but I am prepared to help the real girls of Boob.ie to do breast checks if they need help, better safe than sorry ladies and I have warm hands).

Although to my credit I have more knowledge of medicine and medical health than most, if not all alternative medicine quacks (for starters, I know enough to know there is no such thing as alternative medicine, alternative medicine that has been proved to work becomes medicine), but I am just recovering from the dreaded man flu.

So I want to share my pearls of wisdom with whoever may be suffering at the moment.

To the women who do not recognise man flu as a serious condition I have two things to say to you;

1. It is not that men can not handle being sick, I mean that is true but it is beside the point, it is that men have enough common sense to realise that rest is the key to getting well. We don’t feel we need to prove anything by running around like a headless chicken, you do not impress anyone by going around town sneezing and spreading germs everywhere you go, for no reason. Even if Bridget Jones and the Spice Girls tell me I should, and all with a triumphant fist pump.

2. I AM SICK!!!! CAN YOU MAKE ME A CUPA SOUP? (FAKE COUGH)

Back to the men, your essentials will be

• Paracetamol (help keep fever down and relieve pain)
• Lozenges (if  you have a sore throat)
• Decongestants (help unblock your sinuses)
• A warm place to veg out (for comfort)
• Access to a laptop so you can read all of those interesting Boob.ie articles you never knew were there. (for entertainment and there’s fooking LOADS of them)
• Liquids; water/ fruit juice (stay hydrated)
• Non greasy foods (if your belly is dodgy and you have the runs)
• Box of tissues (but we all know you already have those)

Ok guys remember to take care of yourself, because that unsympathetic harpy who lives with you does not understand man flu, and get lots of rest so you will get better sooner.

When your man flu starts, there is no real need to go to the doctors yet, you will expose your already weakened immune system to more germs and expose others to yours.  Unless you are in pain, vomiting or shitting all over yourself, you should be fine.

If you do think you need the doctor, phone up and ask if it’s possible for you to you speak to your doctor or nurse over the phone first to tell him/her your symptoms and see if they think it would be worth your time calling in. The reason calling into the doctor may not be productive is simple, there is not much they can do with a cold except recommend plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids.

And antibiotics will not help fight a cold (I mean the super condition of the man flu). However, if your case of super deadly man flu does not seem to be fading after 24/48 hours, give a phone call to ask your doctor if should you call in.

Let’s break this down into steps, because let’s be honest; men are simple creatures and we work best in a super structured environment.
1. Find a comfy spot to veg out; a sofa is fine or a bed if you have a TV in your room. Make sure you can access the TV remote with as little effort as possible.  Put your laptop near you so you can access Boob.ie at any time, and remember you are the sick one so you deserve all the special treatment.  So fuck the inconsiderate tool who wants to change the channel just because you’re having a nap.

2. Take your duvet with you everywhere; make sure you are encased in your duvet like a tampon in its natural environment. The key is to stay warm, especially if you have a fever, do not over heat. Vigorous sweaty masturbation should be kept to a minimum because of the risk of dehydration, but the occasional gentle stroke should be fine.

3. Drink plenty of fluids, water is best, the occasional fruit juice should be fine but don’t over do it because if you don’t have diarrhoea, you will. (I had to learn the hard way. My arse was turned into a hippy bothering water cannon. It nearly lifted me off of the bowl.). It is probably best to avoid coffee and tea for a little while because they can have a similar effect on your arse as the juice.

4. Take your meds according to the recommended dosage on the back of the packets, remember to read the instructions carefully blah blah blah. Honestly you should read the instructions, but I know no one except me does. Ask your pharmacist for advice when buying them, they should give you advice about when to take them, how often to take them, and what is the best cream for the fungus you have growing on your funguy.

5. If like me and you get a bit of a sick stomach when you get a cold, sorry I mean super deadly epic killer flu, try to avoid greasy food. Stick with simple stuff like beans on toast, soup or something really manly like a toasted Panda club sandwich, with a side of Unicorn nuggets, Koala bear shavings all washed down with an ice cold glass of Unicorn milk.  Get your massive tongue around that, Jamie Oliver.  That’s what she said.

6. Blow your nose regularly, there are two reasons for this 1) no one wants to hear you sucking your snots back into your head just to cough them into your mouth and then swallow them.  And 2) it will give you a back up excuse if any nosey bastard asks about all the crusty tissues that are surrounding you.

7. Ignore people who try to push their quack bullshit at you, they will try use words like ‘natural’, ‘western/eastern medicine’ and ‘big pharma’, lava is natural but you would not touch that stuff. There is no difference between medicine from the east or west, there are just the medicines that work and everything that does not work gets the label ‘alternative’. And some people have a problem with companies that make money off of public health, they make money because their products work, (like a car company, if their cars work we buy them, if they don’t work we don’t call them alternative cars and push them around like the fucking Flintstones) and the ‘alternative’ crowd are not doing it for the good of your health, they are doing it for the cash also.

As lovely as she is, perhaps it'd be handy to ask advice from someone who can spell the night part of Night Nurse.

Ok guys, remember to take care of yourselves, I hope you get well soon. If you feel like you are really taking a turn for the worse call your doctor immediately.

One more thing, the flu (the real flu) is much worse than a cold, so don’t forget to ask your doctor about the flu vaccination.

She has a history of sports, having practiced both women’s football and karate, with which she was Sardinian junior karate champion and won a bronze medal at the Italian Karate Championships. Speaking of ass kicking, Melissa has said recently that her midfielder boyfriend got injured from having too much sex with her.

Boateng is taking some time out from football because of a strained quad. Melissa said recently:

 “The reason why he is always injured is because we have sex seven to ten times a week!”

“I hate foreplay, I want to get straight to the point,” she added. “My favourite position is on top so I can take control.”

I have no sympathy for him and his broken willy “strained quad.”
